frankly, mono, i think your lack of tolerance for people of faith is just as disturbing and troubling as the reason for the most reason thread bump; legislators making steps to limit the rights of people based on their sexuality (more on this later).
Seriously mono, while gramme and i don't even see CLOSE to eye to ey regarding religion, his explanations of his viewpoint are always rooted in how he feels about his own beliefs. They are measured and polite. Your viewpoint can be summarized by you pointing at someone (anyone) whom you disagree with and saying "You're stupid!!!" (and then asking for their portfolio).
It's this same sort of intolerance that you, dobs and the rest of us are upset about, isn't it? gramme hasn't said anything against homosexuals aside from "under my belief structure, these people are misguided. This doesn't mean they're bad people". It's his opinion and he's free to have it and express it. Same way that we can express that we think these hypocritical legislators are assholes.
If you want people to be more tolerant, lead by example. If you would like people to be respectful of the viewpoints of yourself and others, do the same for them.- that sums of Newstoday/QBN in a nutshell.JazX
- Also, I don't call people stupid if they voice their opinion. Don't generalize like that; it's not fair.monospaced
- Oh, and show us your work, stupid! :Pmonospaced
- HAHAH @ monolocustsloth
- personally, im sick of being respectful to religious nutcases. if you're delusional, you're delusional.iCanHasQBN

Really, you're calling me intolerant? I only said I was disappointed. Jesus fucking christ.
- monospaced0
Anyways, gramme and I have had this conversation before, probably about two years ago. Conclusion: we respect each other. This time it's between him and the rest of you.

"I won't name names, but it hurts to know that people truly fall for the God bullshit" -monospaced
yes, mono, you're right. This is a VERY tolerant statement.
- Yeah, so it bothers me that someone's life is dictated by a book. I didn't attack him.monospaced
- I didn't say I wouldn't tolerate him, you hypocrite.monospaced
- calling someone's beliefs "bullshit" is both intolerant and arrogantlocustsloth
- a more tolerant response would be "i'm disappointed that that's what he believes, but to each his own"locustsloth
- To each his own. Fine. I still don't see logic in faith.monospaced
- that's cause faith requires no logic, just that you believelocustsloth
- My point exactly. If I believe in something it doesn't make it real, and I believe this applies to god.monospaced
- While faith and logic are different, they can coexist without contradicting one another.gramme

"yes, mono, you're right. This is a VERY tolerant statement."
That hinges on the idea of God being a valid argument, which it isn't in any discussion involving critically-thinking.

WHO TURNED THIS THREAD FROM GAY HYPOCRITES TO GOD HATES FAGS,
we can't even separate a simple discussion about fuckn hipocrites getting caught the hand in the bag to always coming to that of god doesn't exist, god hates gay, god is a (insert whatever you want),
FFS GROW UP EVERYONE.- Hahaha. GeorgesII telling us to grow up. Wow.monospaced
- You forgot to blame it all on America, George.DrBombay
- bombay, go back to politic thread, sum wurk is missing you and your fake patriotismGeorgesII
- Death to America!DrBombay
- yeah, everyone hate you because they criticize your government actions, whhhhhhhhhhhaaaaammm...GeorgesII
- You are in the right thread if you like the group Wham!DrBombay
- lukus_W0
I admit, I do sometimes like discussing stuff for the sake of discussing stuff.
- GeorgesII0
Monospaced and bombay, you should stop for once trying to rable rouse,
we're 6 (almost 7) billions people on this goddam rock, you sure won't find people that will agree with you.
I'm just sick of always the same trying to look so impartial and fair when in reality, you're just as biased as everyone else.
- GeorgesII0
Bombay please don't even go there trying to paint me as a fuckn homophobe,
"What am I biased about, that the gays should have the same rights as the straights?"
----------
this is a thread I posted a year ago about how disgusting some people were, re read the subject and try again,
-why do some people become anti gay because they're too ashamed of coming out of the closet.
the suffering of living a double life, the lies and deceptions and off course the shame of getting caught in your bed by your wife
another thing why are they almost always republicans??
- monospaced0
I can't believe you're calling me out as a rouser in this thread, considering the surplus of ignorant, insensitive statements leading up to the 5th page where I eventually came in. If you knew me at all, and gramme sorta does (through our conversations here) you'd know that I'm very open minded and tolerant and ready for discussion. Yet, I'm as entitled to my opinion (of being disappointed, and not believing in god) as anyone else. That's all.
- if you were as open minded as you pretend, you wouldn't care what other say, in 2010 I still get called a nigger sometimes I don't cry about itGeorgesII
- don't cry about it, I just ignore them and try to go on with my life, not everyone is going to agree with you ever..... so its pointless trying to convert them, live and let liveGeorgesII
- pointless getting angry because someone has a different point of view, live and let live or you will never grow upGeorgesII
- George are you chastising people for arguing on the internet? really?DrBombay
- no I just fuckn hate moral givers like you, you are no better than a goddamm westboro church member,GeorgesII
- You can't question my tolerance just because I get upset by a differing opinion.monospaced
- And your reactions, GeorgesII, don't make you better than me.monospaced
- Wow, you speak your opinion all the time, but somehow that is different?DrBombay
- question moral givers? Did you read the first few pages of this thread?Josev

what is this thread about
- monkeyshine0
Gramme, I appreciate that you try to be reasoned in your thinking but the problem I have with your thinking...and other christians who tout the same tolerance...hate the sin not the sinner types...is how completely arrogant you are in your opinion. I'm not attacking but it insults me to hear you talk as though you are speaking the voice of god. Sorry, but you are not. You are speaking to your own experience and relationship to god. Good for you...it sounds like you have a strong spiritual relationship with god.
But don't try to tell me that because I don't believe what you believe that I am wrong or because of my lifestyle I am wrong in the eyes of god...but you love me anyway. Oh thanks for your compassionate conservatism. You don't know. You have a set of values that guide your beliefs but you don't really know any more than anyone else. I have a set of beliefs that guide my spiritual life; I do not know beyond certainty that what I believe is right or wrong but I follow my own sense of faith. Example: I am not a literalist but I have no interest in trying to hit anyone else over the head with my beliefs...it's very personal.
That's my issue with your words and personally I'd rather you kept it to yourself and influence through your actions rather than words.

You're all religiously gay.
