Who uses them in comfortable, business emails?
i find them a bit juvenile but use them a lot to avoid misunderstandings.

Talking with friends I use :P a lot. I'm not actually sure what it means, I always just pretend it's me tripping over my own tongue (which I never do, but always think I am while talking for some reason).

I never, never, never but never ever use emoticons ever anywhere except here at QBN, and I found it acutely embarrasing to use them here at first, but I did so in order to try and assimilate.

Sarcasm DOES NOT get relayed well in emails.
