I once had a boss who spoke limited english so the only direction she ever gave me was to make it more creative.
"The client needs 4 calendars designed by Friday"
"OK, short deadline, what kind of theme do they want?"
"Oh, you know, creative"
"I'm going to need more than 'creative'"
"You know, they want something creative, you know? Just make it creative"or
"How am I supposed to show this to client? Take it back, make it more creative"

top three things (because there are hundreds...)my boss does that makes me die a little bit inside:
-when he wants his creative 'team' to know that he's working super hard, he'll rub his hands together really loudly- and exhale deeply, followed by more hand rubbing
-he calls people on the phone 'guy'. even if he doesn't know the person that well, he wants to appear sociable and hip (for example: "well great tom- i'll get the specs over to you asap. yep. okay guy, great!")
-he walks in the office after using the restroom, and says to all of us designers: "hey peeps, anything goin' on?...how we doin'??"thanks GOODNESS its friday
