We're on our 4th cable box from Comcast, cuz they keep shittin the bed. And we've only had the service for 7 months.

also stories of how ignorant the 'help/service' people are

Well I just updated my home cable to IO digital cable and all I want to do is kick Mr. Cablevision in the nuts.
The cablevision guide/remote/setup is not user friendly at all. I like to think that I am a pretty smart person especially when it comes to gadgets/computers but everything about the cable box makes me feel like an impotent old man.
I dont understand why I have to view channels that are on the guide that I dont have?
- I know, i don't subscribe to the HD channels, so I don't want to have to scroll through them...epigraph

I'm hungry and the only thing in the office is some stale pistachios, a box of plastic spoons, mouthwash and some earl grey tea bags.
- MMMMMM pistachiosPIITB
- um no thats not what i meanti_R_error
- You could fellate the spoon, teabag yourself, and wash the shame away with the mouthwash.harlequino
- dunno about the pistachios, tho...harlequino
- exactly..hence the frustration.TheBlueOne

Comcast is a monopolistic worthless pile of crap of a company. You can call them 6 times and get 6 different people telling you 6 different things.
When I used to use them, I called in one time because the service went out and they told me I would get charged for them to send a tech out. I finally started yelling and they sent a guy out for free.
- Gucci0
mostly, the service guys are people just trying to do their jobs. I've not encountered any gross negligence. I'm usually more frustrated with the hardware itself.
Though - when they say they're going to be there, they should be.
The billing is where you get really fucked off. I've heard of nightmares there. I've been ok so far *crosses fingers*

We just updated our cable this week, they sent out a technician and he made the necessary updates at 2pm and by 7pm they cancelled our cable. They said they screwed up the paperwork and thought that we were canceling. haha
- designbot0
Same thing happened to me. Our neighbors upstairs moved so they stopped there Comcast internet service....Technician comes out and shuts off our internet instead of theirs!
Took those douchebags a week to get our internet back on.
- TheBlueOne0
Actually you just reminded me I have to call my cable company...
- good luck blueone.PIITB

I go into phones4u about 3 years ago to upgrade from orange pay as you go to a contract. I fill out everything and pass my credit but they refuse me the contract phone because there is a tiny smudge on my signature.
A complete waste of time except that they ordered my number to be released... so my phone stops working... I call orange and phones4u after much arguments from both I tell them to sort it out or I would take some for of legal action. Both blame each other and it turns out that they cant retireve my number.
Next day I go into the orange shop and get a new phone contract and number on a reduced line rental and I set up a direct debit.
4 months down the line my phone stops working. Turns out that I was paying the bill for the phone that they disconnected and that they couldnt jsut swap over the charges... I went mental and got months free line rental...
Soon after I changed network. now i swear at any orange or phones4u signage or advertisment.
- maybe the entire world should throw oranges at Orange workers.i_R_error

I had T-mobile service for a year or so. Then i cancelled for whatever reason. Had a receipt of cancellation, all that stuff. They call me periodically wanting to know why I hadn't paid my outstanding balance. I have to keep my receipt around to give them the cancellation number again and again.
That began 2 years ago.- I would murder them if I had to keep giving them my cancellation number.PIITB

Virgin Media are also terrible, everytime you call them they put you on hold or tell you to call another number, I dont think Ihave ever had a straight answer from them, except from thier £1p/m tech support line.
