...is not a good day for me. My emotions tend to be directly proportional with the markets. Major indices are down today, dollar down, intel investigation launched, my portfolios are remaining well diversified and consequently resistant, but not by much. I keep myself and my clients hedged in commodities, but I'm still losing some money.
I need a drink.

Um, maybe if you stopped hanging around a design website and spent sometime managing your funds maybe things would look up for you.
But hey, who am I to counsel such financial genius as yourself.

Hope this doesn't push you over the edge, hedge:
"Federal regulators warned Thursday that banking-industry turmoil would continue as financial institutions come to terms with piles of bad loans they made to finance the construction of homes and condominiums.
Until now, most of the damage to banks from the housing crisis has come from homeowners defaulting on their mortgages. But amid a dismal spring sales season for new homes, loans to home and condo builders are looking increasingly shaky. Banks have begun to dump them at what will likely be steep discounts, setting the stage for billions of dollars in fresh losses."

You should quit while you are ahead, take all that lovely money you have and then start up a company one which specialises in new technologies, sounds like you have your irons in too many fires, take a break from it all you obviously don't need to work anymore so enjoy like and forget about all these stresses you feel, why not take up a hobby as a carpenter or something lovely like that.
The main thing is not too worry too much hedge if you don't have your health what do you have!!!!.- I was once in deep love with Hedge, but now I'm having funny feelings for Milky_joe. wanna?threadpost

Good advice, Milky. I've thought about it, but I enjoy making money, honestly. Wall Street is stressful, but I live for it.

Hey hedge my firm is building a house now for a hedge fund guy, I'm sure he'd send you references. He was just in the WSJ actually. Made a big hire, stealing a hotshot from Morgan Stanley...since you're in the market for a house (saw your post about the Aspen residence you were looking to buy) maybe I could call you up and give you some ideas. We generally build in the $5-$12 million range. Is that your area? If not I can easily suggest someone in a higher or lower market. C'mon man... we probably know some of the same people in fact. You sound like exactly the kind a guy we love to work for..
I could show you lots of pretty pictures of real houses we build. That'd probably cheer you up.
- How did you know I work with MS?hedge
- My brother works for them. I have long tentacles.TheBlueOne
- hedge0
What fund does he own?
- C'mon can't reveal that. Client privacy. They do manage funds that focus on muni arbitrage though.TheBlueOne
- So you build homes? I thought you were a graphic designer?hedge
- Do both. Graphic design is my fun freelance job.TheBlueOne
- Oh, good stuff.hedge
