How do you -- as a designer -- present yourself to clients, wheen meeting?
Do you try to present yourself as a creative person, and reflect that in the way you dress etc., or do you go for something more formal and business-like maybe?
Of course it must depend on your personality, but I'd find it interesting to hear if people reflect over this. Obviously showing up in speedos isn't much good (regretfully).

Strap some stationary on both of your shoes if you can't.
Don't let the way you dress affect their decision, in the end it will come down to your portfolio.

I think you can be pretty sure that the way you present yourself, and the people's first impression has something to say. But I'm not asking for fashion advice here, I'm merely asking what kind of thoughts you're all having on this topic.
Meeklo... Has anyone ever told you that you have stunningly beautiful eyes..?
- Meeklo0
To be honest..
if the company demands to wear a tie, I will get up from the seat, shake everyone's hand in the room, and thank them for the opportunity of the interview, and respectfully decline the position.- I have some very nice ties. But they're uncomfortable to wear every day. I'm with you on that.YAYPaul

doctor outfit and nothing on the inside.
(that's what you should wear, I mean)

Yeah well, the whole "I'm a doctor, but I also design stuff. Yay!"-thing might just confuse them, I think. This is better kept in your fantasies, Jaline. But perhaps some day... It will come true for you. Some day...

I've been known to rock Speedos.
I wouldn't do that to a client meeting though. I usually say, "Wear a suit" in these threads, but I think basically it's because I like wearing suits and really don't see why people mind them and have such a hatred for them.
I mean ... wear something that shows them how much you respect their business, and/or want it.
Granted, I would in fact wear a Speedo as a result of that above statement ... but would advise against it.
- only if the suit is really stylish. it can't be some men's wearhouse off the rack crap.sputnik2

I personally like to dress nice, It is a matter of respect to the client I agree, if the client seems easy going I might go a little less formal next meeting.
The way you dress doesn't tell someone you are creative and innovating, I know plenty of douche bags who think they are "it" for dressing crazy. Most respectable clients would appreciate someone who looks professional an presentable, after all they are trusting you with their project.

All depends on the client, I had a freelance meeting today and rocked a windbreaker and adidas. I was comfortable but this is for a small business.
- i always wear my windbreaker pants to the strip club. was your meeting there too?sublocked
- nah it was a jacket. baby its cold outside.mrdobolina

The most important thing to wear to a client meeting is a good tan. Second most important is to show some cleavage.
Third: smile and laugh a lot.
