Glad to see the mission well so far and all seems to be in good shape to take back some samples. But after seeing hte images i must say im way under enthused. Looks like they brought a cell phone camera to send pictures back. Why the hell arent we seeing some crazy high color pictures here????480 million bux and no color!!! Conspiracy theory? Not wanting to fully share their knowledge with other govs???

Why don't you write NASA and share with them your startling insight into their operations? I'm sure coloured-imagery is something that simply hasn't crossed their minds.

They are engineering images. The thing has all sorts of cameras and filters on it. . . be patient, there will be more. I mean its on frickin Mars ffs.
Not that there's much to see but an endless red plain. . . but that's not what it's there for, it's there to dig into the ice and look for life or signs of its possibility.

From what I have learned (from the Discovery channel), pretty much all NASA photos, including from the telescopes are in b&w originally. The color we see (nebulas, planet scapes etc.) are often processed in later, and such not 100% real.

They make it look shitty and red because in reality it looks almost like earth. Stone coloured terrain and bright blue skies...

yeah i know its about samples of the soil, but come on, they cant figure out how to take colored pictures. i dont believe that.....I think their not showing for some reason.

those things travel a long way, man. But they are just 1s and zeros... maybe the camera equipment doesnt work right in space? It is odd.
