If I partition my iMac drive for the purpose of running Windows and OSX by using boot camp and then I decide to "un-partition" the drive will I loose any data on the mac side?

the answer is no :)

Awesome! Would you use disk utility to just erase the partition?
- drgs0
But you will if you go from one partition to 2

So, when installing Windows and you get asked if you want to re-format the partition do you re-format with NTFS file system or leave the current file system intact?

why don't u try Pararells or WM Fusion?

My suggestion: use FAT32 rather than NTFS as it will be easily accessible by OSX. You can use Paralells with a bootcamp windows, actually that's the best way to use it. If you just need to check something in IE, you just launch Paralells for a while. If you need all computing power to windows, restart into it.

I'm using macfuse to access (write/read) my NTFS external drive, and it's doing its job very well so far.

Doesn't fat32 have a partition limit?
