I saw Nick Cave recently and I was disappointed. But that's because I was at this show in 2004.

Some of my favorite shows:
Ozzy w/ Metallica (1984)
Ministry (early 90s)
Mercyful Fate (early 90s)
Tool (late 90s)
Slipknot (early 00s)
A Perfect Circle (early 00s)... so many good shows, I just want to keep typing.
- Obviously, "when" you catch the band is a pretty important part of the equation.blaw

Enjoy the ATP dont look back shows.
The Dirty Three playing ocean songs was a standout. Nick Cave on piano was pretty special- That's what was lacking at Cave's recent London gigs - piano.JerseyRaindog

one of my favorites was Iron Maiden 4 or 5 years ago...
they are in or around their 50s but they have more energy on stage than i have seen in bands half their age. and i don't think bruce stopped moving. he ran around the stage for and hour and a half straight. i can't imagine having that kind of energy or lung capacity...
great visuals too.other great shows i've caught with good visuals: tool, NIN
- Maiden is 100% spot on perfect live. There probably isn't a more note perfect live act.marychain

I'm not sure lavish/lots of money = great concerts, but, from what I've seen it can be like an orgasm for the eyes. If you add a singer with great music or just an amazing singer, this would equal a great concert. I know others enjoy really intimate settings too. They have their place, and it makes you feel more connected to the singer when the concerts are smaller. So, if I did enjoy live concerts, I wouldn't mind either kind.

You guys will laugh, and this will reveal my age to the young birds like Jaline, but Candlebox was great live. My first concert back in '95. I was 16. Ah, the glory days of corduroy and undershaved long hair.....
- My first concert was *cough* Cliff Richard in 1986.JerseyRaindog
- I don't know who that is, but it's obviously important to you, and therefore worth posting here :)Jaline
