how long before you normally hear back from job interviews? i've gotten offers before while on the way home from the interview... and some months and months later...
- jevad0
Depends on the company. Like you I've been offered jobs on the spot and also not heard back from places for several weeks.

it's best if you don't think about it and just continue interviewing.

question about freelance gigs...say i got a gig thats 2 months but a week after starting it i get a full time offer ( which i prefer)...how would u handle t?
- MrOneHundred0
I have never had a successful job interview – ever. Always got my jobs through word of mouth. Same way that I always lose my jobs.

I would give the place you are working one or two week's notice—long enough for them to find a replacement and be honest with them—explain that u dont want to fuck them over, but you have to leave. They understand. Happens all the time. its dod eat dog in this business. Just handle yourself like a professional.

It all depends on how fucked up the office is administratively. If a place is really messed up, and no one talks to anybody else, and they hire a little cheap shit mofo, as a try-out option, that doesn't work out, it could take months to hear back. Or worse.
If they're together, and they like you, they'll hire you before you can leave the building after the interview.
The normal situation is to call you back several days after you've gone through a panic/anxiety attack about what the fuck you're going to do with your life.

i'm in that panic / anxiety attack mode... but i've been lucky to get 4 interviews this week (most i think i've ever gotten) and all but one is for freelance.urrgh

what do you not like about freelance? stability issues?
- mographed0
exactly. you never know how long its going to last ... but at least the one good thing about freelancing is that i've worked for a wide variety of work and know that home entertainment is where i want to be
- _salisae_0
you a call boy?
- _salisae_0
freelance with a variety of agencies until you find two or three that you work really well with and between those you will be booked.
the hard part is the beginning because you feel like you have to please so many people.

Things are shit right now in NY for freelance. Going on one month+ without work. I have 4 headhunters working for me at the moment. Have had 10-15 full time job interviews in the last 8 months. Still no golden ticket.
- that's terrible, hope you land the right job thoughComplexfruit
