Wait for it...wait for it...
Rumor has it that Obama is going to be selecting Edwards at his running mate in June.

Wouldn't Hilary be smarter for the party?
- organic_grid0
Doubt it, as much as I like Edwards, he will not help Obama beat McCain.
The only way Obama can beat McCain is with Hillary on the ticket, which I am sure will not happen.
Las Vegas odds have McCain beating Obama without Hillary on the ticket, there probably right...

Really? I'm pretty plugged in to the political scene, and I haven't heard that at all. I doubt they will make a VP pick for some time.
But...I do think Obama/ Edwards would be a strong ticket, maybe unbeatable.
- are you fucking kidding me???
Nobody's beating McCain
sadlymarychain - Wrong. Look at the polling average - http://www.realclear…ukit

If the Dem's loose this I give up. They deserve it because they are complete retards. Hilary needs to deal with VP and do it.
- I mean if they lose it, they don't deserve the office. This should be a cake walk.jfletcher

i really can't see hillary taking orders from obama.
maybe she can run for gov. of west virginia.

Also I disagree with utopian's pessimism above. Issues, money, enthusiasm, all the metrics favor the Dems this year. This is a tough time because Hillary is still in the race, Obama taking it from Hillary and Repubs at once, and Obama is STILL leading McCain by as much as 7 points in some polls. He raised over 50 million last month, McCain raised about $10 million with the whole party behind him. Plus, Obama just launched a massive voter registration drive to increase youth and black voting across the country.

As much as I have grown to really dislike Hillary in recent months...
She is the only viable VP for the Obama ticket. If she is not on the ticket have spoken with countless friends and strangers alike at bars, events, etc... that said "they would vote for McCain without Hillary on the ticket". Sad but true, I believe that there are still many racists living amongst us...- wrong, wrong wrong. he has the right to pick on his own. Screw her, she needs a Sybian machine.mg33

I say Edwards or Jim Webb...Wesley Clark wouldn't be bad either. The Clinton supporters will come around.

If we go back in the PVN Archives, you'll see my initial hopeful Edwards/Obama ticket many moons ago, haha.
People are going to be quick to pen Hillary in as the VP Candidate, but that's ridiculous. Just plan ridiculous.
Edwards isn't the front runner, but I think people tend to forget how well liked and received his wife is ... especially by women. If most people's case is that Hillary should be the VP based solely on the fact she lacks genitals, they solely lacks brains.
- I slowly lacked grammar at the end there, haha.flavorful
- haha - they lacks brains, them does...mikotondria3
- *and women's genitals are 'up inside', according the most opened section of my school biology textbook..mikotondria3
- Lacks genitals? She has different genitals, hopefully she doesn't lack them completely LOLukit
- Damn it. I meant balls. Balls.
A good pair of Margaret Thatcher's!!flavorful - ...that's another story..mikotondria3

"The Republican defeat in Tuesday’s special election in Mississippi, in a deeply conservative district where, in an average year, Democrats cannot even compete, was a clear sign that the GOP has the political equivalent of cancer that has spread throughout the body. Many House GOP operatives are privately predicting that the party could easily lose up to 20 seats this fall.
Combined with the 30 seats that the GOP lost in 2006, that would leave the party facing a 70-vote deficit against Democrats in the House — a state of powerlessness reminiscent of Republicans’ long wilderness years in the 1960s and ’70s."

I just hope beyond hope that Obama, whom I greatly admire, and is the first politician I can honestly say genuinely carries my hope, is not the US's Tony Blair - sweeping to power on a tide of youthful optimism, clearing aside endless years of autocratic, out-of-touch right wing rule - only to end up a pasty faced shill, running the country into the ground with the worst ideas of the left and most of the old bad ideals of right, leaving everyone utterly devoid of any enfranchisement of government at any level.

Edwards said in March that he does not want to be VP.

If Obama and Hillary don't run together... might as well kiss this election goodbye once and for all... sux.
- YAYPaul0
Hillarys ego is far far too big to run as Obamas second.
Them together would produce a win yes. But Hillary supporters are already saying they would vote for Obama should he win the nomination.
