Niney the Observer - Sledgehammer Dub
"Classic dub from the Observer, originally released in an edition of 300 in the 1975/76 heyday of this music, the album has been rare as camel eggs since then. Basically, this is one awesome compilation of alternative mixes to Dennis Brown B sides, prepared by King Tubby as exclusive dubplates for his Home Town Hi Fi sound. Another classic dub (re)discovery from Motion Records."

Apart from four-letter cats and a few "free service at capacity" notifications, this has been the best FMT since the first Wednesday FMT. Thanks, people.

bringing dub + punk vibe together:
Bad Brains - Quickness
http://www.sendspace.com/file/ke…Interesting story - I bought this CD and the Grimjack: Demonknight graphic novel on the same day, got home put the music on sat down and read Grimjack, so now whenever I hear a bad brains song from that record, I think of the panel in the graphic novel that I was looking at when the song first came on.

I used to listen to primarily "white" music until the summer of 89. I bought this and De La Soul 3 ft high around the same time. Changed my spectrum of musical taste forever.

Originally released in 1978, Black Devil's "Disco Club" is an extremely rare disco masterpiece, an epic journey into the deepest electronic disco.
The record is credited to Joachim Sherylee and Junior Claristidge, pseudonyms of two french library writers Bernard Fevre and Jacky Giordano. It was made manually in a recording studio in the suburbs of Paris using synths and occasional tape loops and a drummer. No midi or computers.
Bernard Fevre came back with a new release in 2006 under the guise of Black Devil Disco Club although some remixed versions taken from this second album were released under the original Black Devil monicker by the same label.
