this always works for me:
-take a big swig of water in your mouth and hold it
-plug your ears, and tilt your head back so you are looking straight at the ceiling, or diving into outer space
-now swallow while keeping your head back and ears plugged- this (or actually a variation of this) almost never fails for melocustsloth

Here's something else that helps:
Look for something elongated, like a banana, a stapler, or a small house plant.
Jam it up your ass, but not all the way. Let a good 3-4 inches hang out.
Now run around and find an office mate, and yell in your best desperate action movie voice, "There's no time! You've got to help me! The reactor is gonna blow any second. I can't reach the lever (show them your ass)! You'll have to pull it for me or we're all gonna die!!"Granted, this won't cure hiccups, but golly, it will create some smiling faces.

i take the deepest breath i can and hold it tightly. try to push and hold your lungs down against your stomach... it usually knocks the diaphram back into check... if not try it a few times holding as tightly and as long as you can bear. also try while drinking water.
