People seem really into wood around here.

it's that time of year I think.

for the love of god get a wacom
- morilla0
I like the wacoms for doing artwork and design, but for general use the mouse is funky.

funky good or funky bad? or just funky?

The motion associated with the tablet contributes to tendonitis in the elbow and shoulders. Needless to say I'm a mess from the shoulders out.

funky bad, bad that is just my feeling towards it.

do yoga, perhaps?

Why not just get into an upper management postion. They never seem to log many hours in front of a computer but take home lots of money.

Here's a career path to pursue:

this is my career change...
but about the carpal tunnel, give this a try, it could change everything, I swear to god: as often as you can stand to, take a break, hold your arm straight out, palm up. One at a time, bend each your fingers down (backwards) for 3 seconds each. Then bend them all down (backward) for 3 seconds.

Carpel Tunnel is probably a sign that you need to move into creative direction.

Sorry I bumped an old thread there ^^

i've been thinking of taking a year or more off to go fly for some airline company in the north. i'm going there around new year's eve visit a friend, so i'll snoop around to see if this isnt just a dream.
(for some reason I'm getting an error about the nature of my content being inappropriate or whatever...)
(and no it's not me in the picture)

When I was out of design work my carpenter friend let me work for him, mostly interior painting. It was fun but twice as hard and paid half as much. I think I will stick to wussy mouse jockey jobs in the future.

strange, whenever i'm feeling shit my mind always wanders to the idea of working as a carpenter, too
i guess it's the most natural choice for us; it seems honest, no computers, working for yourself, still having a creative outlet, still being able to create something and sit back and look at it with pride when finished

my dad and brother are both general contractors. growing up I worked with them in the summers. I've poured more concrete than I'd care to mention, and roofed probably 50 houses, and dug miles of sewer systems. On nice days I sometimes wish I was back doing it, but glad I'm a designer when it's shitty weather.
