I did live in Hallstead, PA off and on for a little while so I'm not surprised at all. Seriously though, look that place up on a map, shares its only traffic light with another town: Great Bend. Not surprised, just saddened.

I first heard pennsyltucky 15 years ago during my freshman year. Easily the most racist state I've been to/lived at.
I caught a cab from the pittsburgh airport. The cabbie started talking. I told him I was from chicago and he blurts out "you get a lot of niggers over there? because we get a lot". I didn't know what to say it was the begining of an hour long drive. It was just quiet after that.

^ Funny, Upstate NY isn't much better (where I'm from). But it really is everywhere. When I first came out here to san jose the lady who was finding apartments for me picked me up at the airport and one of the 'welcome to cali' bits of trivia she dropped on me while we were driving around was "we don't have a lot of black people here' weird.
