dig em... but i would probably fall into the 'mixtape / best of' catagory of fans... not sure if i want to own an entire album
dig the raconteurs, but feel roughly the same so far though i've only heard maybe 3 songs
that said i think jack white is taleneted, i've just never been persuaded to buy an entire album, not to say i wouldn't, but i haven't... so there's that

^ I think I have only bought 6 full albums ever. I have never found an entire album that I completely love.

I'm a big fan of the White Stripes and think they are (or more specifically Jack White) one of the bands around with interesting ideas that attempt to move on with every release.
I have no problem with the fact that there are only two in the band, it's the limitations of the set up that drives Jack White on I think. What I would say though is that there is so much pressure on him when playing live that they can be a bit hit and miss. I've seen them being amazing and also a bit mediocre in terms of performance.

Another 'Jack White' album I love is Van Lear Rose by Loretta Lynn, it's a fantastic piece of work.
It's worth checking out even if you don't like country music in any way.

you're all mad or being contrary for the sake of it. jack white is brilliant. he has soul.
the most recent raconteurs album is my favourite album this year.

Their stylophone solos are some of the best I've ever heard. Watch out Rolf Harris!

Just me who red the title as white strippers?

loved the raconteurs debut album, the new one totally sucks. and the white stripes, that's definately over. but here's something to listen to: http://www.bloodredshoes.co.uk/ - blood red shoes ROCKS!
- Saw them week before last I think, at some student bar. Good set.

suck. two people isn't enough!!!

pfft you haters. They do great music. And each album is better and better. Full stop.

Ok. This sort of thing goes back to an argument I frequently have with people about music (can be related to lots of things actually).
A lot of people say a band/artist/whatever is 'shit', when what they actually mean is that 'they don't like them'.
It's often easier to condemn something as being rubbish rather than justifying your opinions. It's shit, it's crap, it's rubbish... blah blah. Just tell the truth - you don't like it, it doesn't appeal. Doesn't mean it's shit.
Just because you don't like something, doesn't mean it's rubbish. You just don't like it, probably preferring something else.
Kinda rambled on a bit there, but I'm sure you get my point.
- Ok, so the 3rd & 4th paragraphs are essentially the same.Raniator

isnt there an issue with meg white having bad stage fright? They cancelled their last gig in glasgow because of it i think. I thought that why Jack white got into the racounteurs? I really wanted to see them too...

I agree with Raniator.
For me I really love some of White Stripe's stuff but can live without the majority of it . I'm a "Best Of" fan.
My guess would be they're all done and over now.

I love them. There aren't too many major bands representing real blues today. More power to them.
- Hipster white kids=real blues?
I dig Jack, but REAL Blues? C'mon...TheBlueOne - ummm...not "real" bluesJaline

I got bored of them quickly.

I still like them. Not as bad as the Strokes.

made me feel ill.

I like the video with the multiple drum kits, but only because of my extreme admiration of gondry. You won't catch me listening to any of their tunes
