Never been fired. Received a written warning once and had another job 3 days later – best feeling in the world. I too, am not in possession of a resumé.

I work from home but almost got canned this weekend because i refused to leave my wife and 3 day old son for 1 month to be in the office (even though there is no reason for me to be there except so the owner can look over my shoulder every 2 mins)

well i did get laid off once. the company i worked for was bought out and i refused to commute (sf to san mateo, ugh), so i was working at home. work was trailing off until i hadn't done a thing for a couple weeks. then i get an email saying there's an all-staff meeting. i show up and they all look a bit shocked. apparently i had been laid off a couple weeks prior and they forgot to tell me. oops. i did get a pretty good severance though, and they never asked for the desktop or laptop back that they had loaned me.

11 years. Got 3 months notice and no package. Said he wanted me to continue as a freelancer only. I found another job 3 weeks later and persuaded the sole designers to look for other work too on the quiet. Once they handed in their notice he offered me my job back. Obviously I didn't take it.
