My old lady is that well that she's older and a bit traditional. She expects to be taking care of. I usually laugh when she says that cause A.) She lives at home (Chinese), B.) Makes more than I do. If a relationship is suppose to be 50/50 I don't see why financially it has to be all that different.

It's been bad as of late. To the point where, if I'm working late, or out, she won't eat until I get home because she needs me to order food or whatnot. I get kind of sick of it. I did offer though, as I know her course load was too much to take a job, and I didn't want her buried in debt from a student loan.

It should be fairly even. My friends' boyfriends always sneakily pay for everything before my friends are aware (like they have an "in" with the waiter or something lame like that). Seriously, it should be even or relatively even, unless one person is in school or work, and in this case the money should be made up with something else or the relationship may be doooomed.

My girlfriend and I have been together for over 5 years and we typically always take turns unless it's something cheap like fast food lunch or whatever.
It's always worked out pretty well. For things like plane tickets and vacations, she will usually pay it all up front on credit cards to get points and such, then just pay it right off. I don't use credit cards and just pay her back for my portion of a trip.

my wife and I used to split off things.... she was in Korea when we were dating, so I'd pay for my ticket there, and she'd pay for food, hotel, etc....
In the last 8 months of marrige I've paid for everything since she was unemployed, but now she has a job :)
In the end, dump the bitch if she won't help pay.

tank02 - she is Korean, born and raised. We were together for 4 years traveling back and fourth, and finally got married. She moved here 8 months ago. Just got a job last week :)
