mac Photoshop JPGs on PCs

I've had this problem - It's now replicated on 3 macs in the office. When using the "Save As.." command in Photoshop CS3, It produces a jpg which is fine on macs but says it's corrupt on a PC. Using "Save to Web.." the resulting jpg is fine.
It's driving us nuts as we haven't changed a single thing from what we used to do (when it worked!) and yes all files are RGB not CMYK ;)
Any ideas?

odd, i've always hated how illustrator generated jpgs won't work either on a pc. have to resave them in photoshop.
- eh? really? clients never mentioned any issues with mine?horton

Always works for me as long as I make sure it adds the .jpg extension..

Maybe check your thumbnail settings. The major difference between save as jpgs and save for web jpgs is the sfw ones are optimiezed for filesize so there is no preview saved with the file like there is with the save as one. just a thought.

only thing that f***s me off with a mac is that when you go to save as... and it tries to save it in the last place you saved something,
really annoying when you're referring to files in the proper folder in flash...Is there a way around that? (sorry to hi-jack thread)

I usually resave it in Preview. That strips the thumbnail out and makes it work fine on PCs.

Thanks Demafleez but it's definitely not that. It's set to jpg for sure. Ninjasavant, i'll try messing around with thumbs settings and post the results.
Thanks all for your help!

FIxed! Photoshop > Preferences > File handling and turn off mac and windows thumbnails and it works. Going to test if it works with just PC thumbs turned off so at least us Mac ppl will get a thumb ;)
Cheers All
