Every single person I know who has been to Paris (from the U.S.A.) loves the scenery, but dislikes the french people. Mainly b/c they expect you to know the language. Canadians get a warmer welcome, but I think that's pretty general. Overall, there seems to be something about arrogance there. Not saying it's right or wrong. I do like some of the French people in Quebec though.
- that's backwards. The parisians are notoriously intolerant of hayseeds and most americans are such.********

That's a lot of generalising, really. Except the common fact that the portuguese are pretty cool and the spaniards are deviant bastards, all the rest of Europe is a bunch of greedy suspicious mofos who deserve no less than a cruel beating at birth. Basically, that's it.
- Yup, it's a generalization. I'm just stating what others have told me, but maybe it's Paris, who knows.Jaline
- All of the 1 Portuguese people I know are cool ;)Jaline

I didnt dislike the people, more felt like I was putting them out when ever I talked to them (even hotel staff etc). Having a half English half Australian accent didnt help.

No matter where you are, the people interfere with the scenery!

To be honest I never felt unwelcome or mistreated in any place so far that I've travelled.

- Paris was the only place for me. Versailles was more easy going. I have never had issues anywhere else in the world.slappy

Having lived in France for a few years, I think the locals in Paris just get sick of all the tourists. In Nice where I lived, people were incredibly friendly and laid back and most people I met were really excited to meet an American, especially the French teenagers. Not sure if that still applies post-Bush, post-Iraq War though.
