my uncles and grandparents are far more interesting to be honest. One Merchant Banker (signatory of an HK $100 note with kids called Octavia and Cosmo), 2 blacklisted Union Reps (one graduate of Moscow and Leningrad State Universities), a boiled sweetie salesman, a church of scotland minister blah blah blah...

my dad designed this logo (symbol) years ago ....
The ball made from the thistle leaves and not putting it inside the 3d rugby ball like it is these days. I can remember him spending nights and nights with different sketches and watching this design evolve.
From watching my dad bringin his work home and spending time at his studio too and annoying the people there, thats how i knew from a young age i wanted to be a designer too.
i actually work with a girl who used to work at my dads place years ago. small world eh?- oh, wow - I always liked that logo, long before I ever had pretensions of being a 'designer'.detritus

ER doctor and director of University Of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinic ER's in Madison.
I feel like a failure to him, working as a starving designer, while my younger brother is poised for med school... LOL

Mathematician.
Apparently he gets hired to solve programmatic bugs that teams can't figure out... that's the best I can understand. He call himself a problem solver.
...then he also plays blues guitar in a band.... but that's not a real job.

My dad sits around the bus station, spitting and picking his nose.

I think my Dad just fly fishes and kayaks most days. He's 59, has been retired from the corporate world for a a few years now. He did work again, selling ranch land, but as he tells me he's "just trying to figure out if he wants to get another job."
He's the exact reason I'm socking away all I can into my 401K and working towards retiring at a similar age. He and my stepmom were total penny pinchers when I was a kid, but I see the outcome of that now - they were lucky enough to retire from Dallas-Ft. Worth area to the Texas hill country in their mid 50s, build a really nice house and have a nice relaxing life. My stepmom still works, but for me he's an excellent example of working hard to save money for retirement.
