No one should listen to Oprah for anything. Ever.
That said, the idea that anyone has the insight or wisdom to tell anyone else who or what they are, or are not is pretty ridiculous.

Why would you even watch Oprah?
- oddly i was putting some pics on flickr and flipped thru and saw ITgeralddean

I mean, sorry, I shouldn't judge since I watch tons of TV (including some crappy shows), but talk shows like Oprah are the worst. Especially her.

If they want to have a kid fine, do that, have a baby, love it, and be happy. But turning this into some retarded media circus is fucking ridiculous. Clearly they are doing this for the attention and that's just wrong - maybe not for them, but definitely for the kid when it comes out.
And these headlines proclaiming "Pregnant man" are fucking ridiculous. Have you heard him/her talk? Still sounds like a woman.
- that's because s/he started off as a woman.Gucci
- THAT"S WHY ITS RIDICULOUS!flashbender

It isn't even the voice. It's the womb, I tell you!!!! THA WOOOMB!!!

Seriously, though. I think we should all live and let live, but this person is taking the issue to a strange place. I would be curious to know what their agenda is. Going on Oprah seems to be a tad over the top as far as media attention is concerned. They might as well put the big-top tent in front of their fucking house right about now. And posing for a professional picture? Come on. Are they being martyrs intent on breaking down barriers? I don't get it.
A previous poster said for the kid's sake, this should be kept somewhat private. I couldn't agree more.
I'm waiting until there's a reality television show built around the their lives. That'll make it all a bit clearer.

I just don't understand transsexuals.

fair enough, if you are a woman and you feel like you have too much testosterone, and you want a sex change... then do it. I have no issues with people doing what they want. The whole sensationalising of the situation is ridiculous though.
Why couldn't his/her wife have a child? Have i missed something? Surely it would have been easier to have his/her wife artificially inseminated therefore they must only be doing this to be famous. Having a child to be famous?? Totally unethical. It's ridiculous. It makes me sick.

His/her wife couldn't have a child. I agree about the sensationalization, although....think about it. This person is a target anywhere he/she goes. Pretty sure the media would've found out themselves. But yes, the couple is bringing it upon themselves.
- in the sense that they are doing interviews and photoshoots rather than attempt to live under the radar.Jaline

Did you guys hear any of those dumb bitches on the streets (just random women being interviewed by news stations) who keep saying, "I'm hoping that it's going to become a trend. I'm hoping that it catches on with men around the world."
STFU.
And in one interview, he/she claims that he is a man but didn't change his reproductive organs because he/she wants to have babies. I realize things can change, but one of the main aspects of being a woman is that you can have children. Basically this person wants to be half-man, half-woman. Just say that!

I bet the kid is going to be fucked up - s/he is taking testosterone to "be a man" and I'm thinking that's going to fuck with the natural hormonal surges that a woman experiences during pregnancy.
How awesome would it be if the kid came out a hermaphrodite. Man, that would be the perfect 21st century family.
