I know people used Lulu hear before, and have been somewhat critical of their product. But is Blurb any better?

no, there is one other company that looks a bit better and my friend uses often. The quality is top notch. Let me find the link. I think the $ range is a bit pricey though.

Blurb's website says turnaround is 7-10 business days. Anyone that's used it, was the delivery timely?

I used them to make my portfolio. They are pretty good quality...

i've used blurb for my portfolio. it's adequate. sort of fair color copy quality. i'd love to find a better replacement but it's "fine".

ive sen one blurb book at it looked awesome in my opinion. i ahve no idea how hard it is to make though. but my 2 cents is teh end product was very professional looking.

So, do you have to use their software?
I've trolled around in there and seems you have to...

but if I see right, lulu accepts .pdf files?
that blurb software is useless, other than my mom, who the fuck would make a book in a software as flexible as .ppt...
- that's what i'm thinking. i'll probably design mine in indesign and upload page files one by one onto blank pages...JG_LB
- was thinking that too...neue75_bold

ive asked folk in groups on flickr about the blurb books.
quality is meant to be really good.
tip i got was to do tests with some images first to see what they can do and to see how your fonts print out etc

indeed, I do worry about text quality if you go the route of dropping in hi-res jpegs or tiffs from InDesign...
dunno why you can't just submit a press-ready .pdf...

so what is the verdict?
I like that you can upload PDFs to Lulu, but is Blurb better quality?
