I was gonna get it trim at kinkos, they have machines that cut magazines type of stuff... so if I get my books binded I just need to take it to kinkos and they will cut them 3.5 x 4.5
- Did not know that. Seems obvious now, but thanks for the info._salisae_

i am in the process of making 50 copies of a rather small book. i asked for diy bounding ideas a few weeks ago on here and antigirl is always super helpful.
i wish i had the space to set up a little press but there is none. i'm going to do be doing a lot of sowing but i wish i had the time, patience and resources to go with perfect bound.
- its sowing easier than perfect bound?joseprieto
- i am going the simple round. fold the pages in half and sow down the center.emukid
- all i need is an awl, a needle and waxed thread. i make three holes with the awl and sow.emukid
- yep. that's all you will need :)antigirl
- by simple round i mean simple route.emukid

cuz indesign has this option to print "booklets" and it gave me a perfect bound option... So Im trying that out... printing the book in taboild size paper front and back, I guess Im gonna fold the pages, get them together, glue them, and pray... 20 times (yeah fuck 50 books)
- print your ID file to postscript distill it, then print from the PDF. a lot faster. especially with a big file.Gucci

I wish you luck... sounds like a lot can go wrong...

sewing is goin to be easy. if you do not have resources and want to make a press. my first books were handsewn because of that.
but with a page count of 190... that is lots of pages. so really, the best way with that is perfect bound/glue bound..
- joseprieto0
jajajaja yeah.... fuck.... Im soooo stress out... I need them by friday so I can take them to new york... and leave them at the places Im interviewing...
- emukid0
ah i see its -- 190 pages! sowing is not the easiest way. but if you want to do a hard cover, you can sow the signatures and then glue the hard cover.
- antigirl0
friday? and it's tuesday? oh shiiit.
go to a store that has binder clips and glue (just make sure it's a super tacky craft glue) and start on them, like, right now. also get a lot of rockstars.

Im on redbulls and beer... and its taking years to print... maybe kinkos can fold them too... I read there's a machine that folds papers automatically

So there isnt a place where you can email your 1 gig pdf to and then they send you the books?
