Of all of her albums, this one seems to get the worst reviews. Why is that? It's my favorite.

On the other hand, I'm not super excited about White Chalk.

Dry is a little too Riot Girl for me.

Haven't listened to many of her albums yet, but I do like some Riot Grrrl stuff.

She's associated with some of the people in the movement or something like that, I know.

I had one of the first 1000 limited editions of Dry, her first album. I sold it on Ebay about 4 years ago for £130. The most I've ever made from a cd.
- My favourite Peej is still Rid of Me. Though stories from the city comes a close second.JerseyRaindog

I love this album too. It is one of the best she's done...

She's my gf's absolute favourite, we saw her perform live 4 times in 3 countries over the last 2 years. This gives you a nice feeling right when you see the stage setup, like visiting a close friend. I managed to keep 3 of these gigs a surprise for my gf, but had to tell her once. I was sick of her asking "why do we have to fly to Manchester on 7/7/7 and waste two Summer days instead of going straight to Spain?"

If that doesn't make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up - there's a good chance you're dead.
- give me a minute and I'll post the whole set.********
- I have that from when you posted it a couple of years back. Fantastic set. I still listen to it regularly. Thanks again.blaw

I'm learning most of her songs on guitar and want to be a one man cover band called PJ Harry.

PJ Harvey is my favourite female artist! She rawks! Fancy the absolute dress off her, love her quirky kook nature.

The first gig I saw was in Hay-On-Wye, a picturesque village in a lovely green hill setting somewhere around the border of England and Wales. It was a poetry festival and we stayed in a tent, on a terrifyingly muddy meadow. She was supposed to play for the first time in two years, which was since she announced onstage in France she'd never perform again (moth said she'd played in-between these dates though).
That was the first of her solo gigs she's been performing lately, also the first time she played piano in public. It was a night to remember, she moved from song to song from guitar to piano to an old malfunctioning keyboard and a cymbal back to gibson, a tele, another gibson, to an acoustic guitar..Bottom line: you and your song are good if you can defend yourselves with a guitar plus occasional cheap drum machine (she uses some old yamaha QY20 afair). She rocked, the songs were just as juicy as the radio versions, only way edgier.
The gig had a very homey vibe to it:
Then a year later, the solo season continues, that was a thrill:

Moth!
This is good, really good, thanks! Quite close to the solo shows she performs today, bar John Parish.BTW there still are tickets for her May gig in EU's ugliest capital. Even my gf said "no, thanks" when I asked if she wanted to fly to Warsaw to see Polly perform ;)

I know it's good.
I gave a copy to a mate once who played it in his car. He rang me from the side of the road after he had to pull over because it nearly made him crash....I've seen her a good few times. Caught her at the Eden Project - that was a excellent gig. Also saw her at Sommerset House.
I wouldn't fly for her though.
I only fly for Jane's Addiction.

Seen John Parish a few times too.
I understand they're hooking up to do another record aka "Dance Hall At Louse Point"
