The first gig I saw was in Hay-On-Wye, a picturesque village in a lovely green hill setting somewhere around the border of England and Wales. It was a poetry festival and we stayed in a tent, on a terrifyingly muddy meadow. She was supposed to play for the first time in two years, which was since she announced onstage in France she'd never perform again (moth said she'd played in-between these dates though).
That was the first of her solo gigs she's been performing lately, also the first time she played piano in public. It was a night to remember, she moved from song to song from guitar to piano to an old malfunctioning keyboard and a cymbal back to gibson, a tele, another gibson, to an acoustic guitar..Bottom line: you and your song are good if you can defend yourselves with a guitar plus occasional cheap drum machine (she uses some old yamaha QY20 afair). She rocked, the songs were just as juicy as the radio versions, only way edgier.
