BTP - Brand Targeted Prayer hahah
The "where" section is great, that great variety of refreshments has got me hooked.

The reason why I am not Catholic is because their official doctrine stray from Scripture in a variety of ways:
They believe faith + works = salvation. Orthodox Christianity states that works are a sign of true faith, but that they do not add to one's salvation in the least.
They believe that the sacraments are also requirements of salvation: for example, they say baptism and communion are necessary ingredients of salvation. We believe these things are signs and seals, but do not determine salvation.
They make separations between Christians. They canonize certain "righteous" people after death, another encouragement of works-based salvation. Some Christians are post-humously called saints, others are just Christians. The Bible teaches that all believers are saints.
They pray to saints and to Mary. This is not condoned anywhere in the Bible, nor do we have any reason to believe that people hear and/or see us left here on earth after they die.
- Dude, I love you - but do you have to take every religious-scented thread so ungh-damn seriously?detritus

The Catholics I know who actually are Christians do not agree with the Vatican on all matters.
- are you in the business of passing judgement on who is and isnt a christian?mrdobolina
- It's ultimately between each person & God since I can't read minds.gramme
- However, you can tell for sure if a person is NOT a Christian if they claim to believe things that conflict with the core message of the gospel.gramme
- ...of the gospel.gramme
- like all catholics?mrdobolina
- core message? which can be interpreted to mean many things?ephix
- like many catholics, but not all. Many evangelicals too, for that matter.
gramme - The core message is pretty clear and undeniable. Some people just make up what they want to believe.gramme
- its all religion though, admit it.mrdobolina
- depending on your definition, yes or no are both right answers in this case.gramme
- that's bs.mrdobolina
- No, you're just thick as molasses, mrdob. "admit it".teleos
- it is a religion, czawada had it right, the church doesnt pay taxes. what does that make it?mrdobolina

A rule is a principle by which one is saved. A principle is a guideline by which one is sanctified and glorifies God. A principle does not contribute to salvation.
dobs, I think you're missing the point. What I said above is semantics. The real point is that rules that lead to spiritual dead ends are pointless.

Well if Christianity isn't a religion then they owe a fuckload of back taxes.

gramme, even if half the banter in here is insincere and only meant to be witty/snide, i resonate with what you're saying.
that site—even if it's humorous and mockable—brings up things to be worried about with the general topic of faith and religion...

I'm with Amersanderson, in all seriousness—people who exploit Christianity with retarded marketing ploys make me see blood red.

Here at the office we get all these Small Business mags for some reason. And I remember they did a whole article on Faith Based businesses - whole networks of banks, real estate agents, insurance companies, etc. that just cater to the christian evangelicals. They had to deal with some lawsuits when people who weren't christians were hired and consequently not given promotions, raises, etc. But it was one of those shiny happy articles about how advertising and marketing and setting up a Jesus business was Good Business!
