congratulations! that is brilliant. i can't believe you're moving to glasgow, we'll have to meet up before you're off. well done, sir, but it was only a matter of time until you landed firmly on your feet.

Congrats!

wow. that's ace! congrats man!

Thanks girls. I can't believe this is all happening.
I'm really grateful to everyone I speak to on here, as I don't have many creatives for friends NT has been a good place to exchange ideas, offer opinions and get feedback. I suppose that will all change now that I'm getting a proper job...

you'll still lurk while you slurp soup at your desk for 20 minutes out of your 12-hour day. that's what i do, anyway. and the odd cach-up on a Saturday afternoon, of course.

fyi - I'm in town for a couple days as of the 21st [Friday/March] and might be able to nip out for a few that night if you're able to Ben... maybe you can bring your girlfriend Eunice too...

Sounds good to me. Keep me posted!
Probably be good for Nairn to get a bit of fresh of fresh air, and actually spend time with real human beings!;)

nice one... i moved from london up to glasgow as well. loving it, am working across the road from third eye at tictoc. the whole design world in scotland is dead wee so you'll get to know everyone.
third eye are spot on really good guys, hoss, mark, hector all cool.

Just heard back from Hector. Apparently, "circumstances have changed in Glasgow, and they no longer require a designer."
I'm gutted. Thought it was too good to be true.
He said he'll stay in touch and let me know if things change.
I have another interview with www.egelnickandwebb.com tomorrow, but to be honest I'm pissed off with being invited to show my work and then not hearing anything. Any advice, folks?
- sorry to hear that man ;( but these things happen, take it in stride and keep going...neue75_bold

You're work is amazing! Gorgeous! Best I've seen in a while.

I never heard of Egelnick&Webb. Once again I'm am absolutely gobsmacked by the sheer amount of top-quality level design companies that exist at the moment. Their works looks really nice and what a great client list.
As for getting pissed off... yeah, it happens, but make sure you don't convey that in your meeting in any way. better to seem in demand than ground down by a fruitless slog. When I was designing, I used to spend the night before an interview doing something completely new and self-initiated in a sketch book. I'd always explain that I'd done it the previous night and why (specifically for the purposes of having something totally new and previosuly unseen to show in the meeting). I'd whack it out near the beginning and it just seemed to be a good 'lift' to a portfolio that I had grown tired of going through. Also, if you're a bit bored of your folder by now then re-order the projects and don't spend too long looking it through it in the new order, so that it hasd a bit of a surprise element for you as well as them. Those were my tricks anyhoo.
Hope it goes well Ben!

No he's cool, probably just got a bit carried away. Thanks though, Kelpie.
- kelpie0
shame though, been there - very gutting. Keep on trucking mate, you'll get there soon enough
- Concrete0
On a positive note, just got offered a job with Studio Output, doing the Ministry of Sound stuff. Could be interesting!
