Your revolution is over, Lebowski. The bums lost.

At first I thought Ron Paul was personally appealing, however after watching him on a few debates months ago, he was like a train wreck, almost delusional or had dementia. He is no longer relevant, kinda like that Ralph Nader Green Party guy, who know one cares about anymore.
In my humble opinion Barack Obama is the clear candidate to restores America's good name, and a focus and new direction on
our weak economy.

ron paul has great ideas, true. but there's no way he'll get anywhere. even if he were to get to office, it would mean a deadlock between the senate and the white house due to checks and balances.
he does, however, have racist tenants in past speeches and writings which i'm not too fond of. as a politican, however, i do believe he was a breath of fresh air into america's atmosphere as far as honesty is concerned.
- The KKK sent him cash contributions that he accepted!utopian
- his argument was he won't discriminate. there is some merit and some idiocy to it.colin_s
- Those racist speeches are falsely attributed to him. They were written by none other than Lew Rockwell, the Libertarian Matt Drudge.Rodimus79
- excuse me, articles. I don't recall Paul giving any racist speeches. Do you have a link?Rodimus79

He does have some interesting ideas, however everytime he opens his mouth it is like a "rambling rant and never sends" and he certainly does not like to listen to others, a bit arrogant for my liking.

I'm with you on Ron Paul, i like the majority of his ideas as well. Its just a shame that the media can hand pick who does and doesn't get listened to and airtime. The current choices all suck and if anyone ever attempts to run in a third party, they wont even give them the chance to participate in debates. I dont know if you saw the Southpark 2004 election show when they had to choose either a douchebag or a turd sandwich (couldn't find the video but here's the summary if you didnt see it:
http://www.strike-the-root.com/4…
The way i see it with the current choices we have a giant douchebag in Hilary, a turd sandwich in Mc Cain, and Obama reminds of that girl in high school who talked about how good she was, but then turns out to be an inexperienced cock tease. I want to believe Ron Paul has a chance and ill vote for him if he's still running in Nov. but I just wish we did have a better truly democratic way of hearing ALL of the candidates instead of having to choose from the crazy old white guy, the power hungry lady, and the noob whos only special move is preaching "change" And i cant wait till everyones goes ape shit when the super delegate fuss kicks up. 1 thing I like about Canada is that I found out at anytime yall can have a vote of non-confidence in your leader and choose a new 1, man i wish we had that here.

And for the Obama guy in the thread, watch this video and tell me if you can think of 1 actual accomplishment Obama has actually done.
You know what screw it, all the choices suck

I DON"T KNOW WHO RON PAUL IS BUT GODDAMMIT I WILL FIGHT FOR HIS RIGHT TO PARTY!
is he the hairy porn star?

Day late and a dollar short. Where were you 4 months ago?

This thread is seriously making me laugh. You do realize that the nomination for Republican has been decided, right? Ron Paul is a Republican (on paper). Meaning he has absolutely no chance of getting the nomination.
- Louno0
Yeah no i dont know the current state, its too bad that he has no chance anymore... and yes he is old, yes he rambles, but it seems he isnt like the other candidate ( corporate bitches )... the US government is owned by corporations ( which are owned by individuals ) who are obsessed with control... this is freaking propaganda... people in 20 years will look at some media footage and laugh at the abundan propaganda, just has we laugh at the silly nazy propaganda ( which actualy was directed by some american cinematographers ... ) anyways i dont want to turn this into a debate and i dont have the time to go dig up sources of "facts" that I am pushing... so many things that are going on or that went on were WRONG, and its not getting better... altho it "looks" like it...

Ron Paul is a nut. He doesn't believe there should be federal laws against polluting the air or water. He thinks that should all be handled by lawsuits brought by people who's property has been damaged.
I could go on and on, but the guy lives in an 18th century Utopian fantasy world. He should at least drag his ass into the later part of the 20th century before people take him seriously.

Ron Paul would be my only candidate, it's so good he could introduce his ideas to so many new people.
No way he would get elected, because what he advocates is freedom. Freedom's cost is responsibility for yourself and this is a price people will not pay.
Sheep want to be lied to, they want a nanny state and what they think is protection at every step.Presidential election is a liar contest, in order to win all you need to do is lie to people to make them feel safe. Ron Paul wants to resurect the land of the free, but free doesn't sound that safe.
- AndyRoss0
I think that's bullshit. All Ron Paul really cares about is money and private property. He wants people to be able to do whatever they want to their private property: clearcut it, torch it, dig it up, whatever.
Personal freedoms are utterly secondary on his agenda.
- personal freedom and private property go hand in hand

- rafalski0
Well.. this is personal freedom - being able to do what want with yourself and what you own.
- AndyRoss0
No, I'm sorry. I don't think you understand Ron Paul's viewpoint:
He thinks you should be able to build a segregated hotel, or a copper smelter that pours mercury into the air, if you want, on your private property.
But, if you're a woman, and you want an abortion, well, his ideas about the freedoms of private property go into suspension at the cervix. And if you're gay, well, your private parts suddenly are not private property.
Honestly, Ron Paul is just an old-fashioned John Bircher dressed up in meek sheep's clothing. Don't fall for the disguise.

calling whites “blue eyed devils” and Jews “bloodsuckers” that controlled the slave trade, the government, the media and various Black individuals and organizations.
"It seems like being gay or whatever sin you wish to be a part of is okay...but I have the duty to lift that gay person up to the standard to ask if they want to live the life that God wants them to or live the lifestyle that they want to live."
just a couple of comments from OBAMA supporter Louis Farrakhan...
support that Obama does not reject
- DUKIE08220
Andyross you are still wrong about his stance on the issues...
1) Gay Marriage...Opposed House measure amending the Constitution to ban same-sex marriage....Supports definition of marriage as between a man and a woman, but opposes any federal marriage definition
2)Abortion...says that the issue should be decided in the states. Supports ban on procedure opponents call "partial birth" abortion
3)Environment...I consistently vote against using tax dollars to subsidize logging in National Forests.
I am a co-sponsor of legislation designed to encourage the development of alternative and sustainable energy. H.R. 550 extends the investment tax credit to solar energy property and qualified fuel cell property, and H.R. 1772 provides tax credits for the installation of wind energy property.
Taxpayers for Common Sense named me a "Treasury Guardian" for my work against environmentally-harmful government spending and corporate welfare.
I am a member of the Congressional Green Scissors Coalition, a bipartisan caucus devoted to ending taxpayer subsidies of projects that harm the environment for the benefit of special interests.

There's nothing especially unique about Ron Paul. He comes from the same old-school brand of conservatism as Pat Buchanan, Goldwater and others. All these guys basically believe in extremely limited government, having little to no taxes and social programs, and not getting involved in pointless wars, or, for that matter, giving other countries foreign aid or even being in the UN. At its extreme you have paranoid militia types who think we are being invaded by Mexicans and people with White Supremacist ties. On the other hand, a lot of people in 2007-8 were drawn to Paul's message because he seemed to have the most unequivocal opposition to the war and was the only one with the balls to say that 9-11 might have been partly our fault.
- Those paranoid militia types you speak of is called jingoism, and by nature have no influence on the policy at hand.ismith
- Plus, he might not be unique in the world but for the presidential race he certainly was.ismith
- He was so unique, nobody would vote for him.AndyRoss
- Nobody would vote for him because the media never gave him a chanceDUKIE0822
- Instead they spat out 5 min radio and tv spots and made people misinterpret his messageDUKIE0822
