You need to turn hyphenate off.
Otherwise cool.
- Dancer0
Seriously have you sent an invoice.
I really need to bill him.Otherwise Like the cards a more grown up approcach
- madirish0
yeah, drop the hyphenation; unless there is a clear reason for it.
i love pure red/white reversing-out shite like this. get's a man's loins warming.... :) good stuff, skt.

elegant.
- detritus0
The kerning's a bit off and I'm not keen on the red you've chosen.
- paraselene0
i agree about the hypen and lose the http:// as well. otherwise, very nice. i like the red.
- kelpie0
thought about any kind of special process for this? we've just done red with a white foil which looks pretty cool. Might really set this off, it being so minimal...

Looks tidy.
- kelpie0
OR! what I wanted to do and we chickened out of, just debossing the red side instead of printing/knocking it out

deboss the socket
emboss the studioshott!
- this would be very cool actually; they slot together in a pleasing way too ;)kelpie
- I was serious********
- so was Ikelpie
- agreed, I have the hots for this idea
peterorpete - it might be the only one in this thread.onewhoslaps

The reason i added the http was to change the line lengths of the details. and www.socket-studios.co.uk are exactly the same length. I didn't like that.
As for the hyphen, it is mirroring the web address and I thought it balanced out the logo. MIght lose it though if everyone thinks it looks shite.
Kelpie, was thinking of just having them letterpressed on a nice stock.
Dancer, i sent you one at the weekend. Will send again.
- oo, letterpressed, perfect. please send me one when you're done.kelpie

how do you letterpress the dropped out white part?
- ! good point.
deboss the red sidekelpie - fuck. can you get white ink?********
- or what kelpie said.********
- press white on red?NewElpaso
- I'm no expert (ha) but I reckon you could get white ink but a double hit might be troublesome with letterpress?kelpie
- foil stamp the white on the red. It will really pop then. But where do you get the duplex red/white paper?capn_ron
- ! good point.

looks rather generic, maybe it's just me but I've been seeing a lof of these reversed cards where 1 side is red one white the other is white on red. Looks more like an advertising agency than a design studio.
- NewElpaso0
i like the cards - bit too left side heavy though. (have you tried more than one column?
the colour is pretty decent - but a v slight desaturation might be in order.hypenation isn't a problem. (consistency might be though - are you gonna do your site too?)
- Left Heavy is a good thing.. its designerly... I am not in love with the cards though their far too simple. people will just toss em.Iggyboo
- not if you deboss/embosspeterorpete
- yes, i will have to do the site too if i do print these.********
- simple is good, simple is perfect, as long as something else lifts it upkelpie

also
think of Hierarchy...
what ur baiscally saying is..
SOCKET STUDIOS!!!!!
and that ur name and address are of the same value.. and non important..
maybe make your name a size up. make it bold// do something to bring up in the hierarchy.
- reserve 1 side for name, other for address.doesnotexist
- why is my name more important than my url? id don't see that it is.********
- i meant studio name.doesnotexist
- i was asking elpasso.********

the only way to print white on red is engraving, but that mashes up the paper all around and spoils the reverse side.
