col de la croix fry -
just a really fun slope which never has anybody on it, its like back country skiing but you can go on the lifts to get to the top.La Clusaz is pretty good too - also usually quite empty and has some pretty challenging runs - great views
Viehoffen (near zell am see) - great fun, some scary slopes but quite busy

So just got back from Hemlock, and I got say that place is rad when they have snow. It's like ride'n Peak chair with less vertical but with the same grades. It's just one big open bowel for the most part with some glades of on the backside it was sick. 45cm yesterday 12 overnight insanely good today.
Only drawback is the road. We had a 4x4 Suby with snowies and chains on the front so it was fine for us but it was pretty much car pinball on the way down. We had to stop because some truck got sideways and we were on a hill so we put in park and when my buddy let his foot of the brake the the back end started to slip not bad but it was pretty icy.
Overall super rad day. Best part I was suppose to work, and my lead was right their with me hahahaha.

I have a snowboarding question...
If I could ollie down large staircases when I was a freshman/sophomore in highschool how steep of a learning curve would snowboarding be for me?
- skateboarding background is helpful but at the same time its a whole lot different...
horton - someone with lots of experience skiing i think has a bigger advantage over skaters and surfers.horton

I don't see the benefits of it really. Most boards allow for a lot of adjustments, this just allows you a little more fine tuning. I would stick with normal bindings and not limit the type of board you can buy. And yeah, like kld said, some sort of cap strap is good.

Mt Cain was fun. There was about 40cm new snow but it had warmed up a bit. Regardless, I love that place! Best vibe all around and the terrain is nice and steep.
