Just picked one up today in the UK.
Does Flash not work at all on them?
And can I get tetris on it?

welcome to hell

no and yes
- It says on the iTunes store Tetris is only available for the iPod 5th generationmirrorball

you have to find a tetris web app. No native 3rd party apps until February. No flash.

or jailbreak it and install MobileTetrominos

i heard that phone reception is poor.
any truth to this?- I have a feeling sound quality isn't as good as with my previous phonesrafalski
- the sound quality is just fine on mine.Gucci
- oh, and I think the reception being poor has more to do with your provider than the phone, no? am i wrong?Gucci
- it is ok, I just have a feeling it's not best. Oh, and it scratches my ear!rafalski

my reception has more to do with the service than the phone.

it's ghetto but it's still fun

nice!! Would prefer the more arcadey one on the itunes store though. Maybe get it in the next update who knows.

Does the iphone not remember your passwords for websites you log in to using safari on your mac?

People at work start approaching me with "hi, how are you, come on, show it".
I just had a crowd leave fingerprints on it in the kitchenette.

why do people assume iPhone supports Flash?? where has that *ever* been stated by Apple??
i wish it did, but c'mon...
- bad day?doesnotexist
- uhhh... because it should?
On the commercials it said "its not a water down version of the internet, its the internet"Meeklo
- rabattski0
Flash being an integral part of many websites these days may be the cause of that Madirish.

right, i see that, but do people (and sorry for being liberal here in assuming but) especially in this industry (creative/tech/online/design) not read or look at the specs features of products like this? i mean, they are right there and being that it is a somewhat costly tech item, i would think one would like to see what the features were? no?
stab me where i am missing this people, please- but i do not have one but the first thing i did was read through specs of the models to see what separated them, etc.
- if something can read webpages like the NYTimes on commercials I'm sure some would assume you could look at a flash website.doesnotexist

It is advertised to have full Safari rather than a mobile web browser. It has YouTube. It has full JS support, so it's easy to expect Flash to work.
It will eventually, the question is will it work on this one or gen2?
- mirrorball0
I'm hoping it works when they release this developers pack thing, so Adobe can bring out a plugin to support it.

Technically you're right Madirish (although i don't read anything about it in the actual specs). However (Rafalski pointed this out already) text like this "...the most advanced web browser ever on a portable device.." and "With its advanced Safari browser, iPhone lets you see web pages the way they were designed to be seen.." is quite misleading. Both are quotes are taken from Apple's site.
- Man Jobs and company are assholes!! why the fuck would anyone not expect flash, when the piece a crap promises the real web not a mobile version...I have seen windows mobile that supports flash...steve is a HO! gonna bitch slap his ass for my money!xhanubis

I've been tryng to figure out how a touchscreen would work with flash. How would rollovers work? what about mouse positioning and shit? I'm sure it'll work someday, but it's interesting to think about how.

My opinion on the iPhone. It's a fantastic phone that gets great reception (ATT carrier). With or without the Apple headphones (which I just dumped for a new set of V-MODA VIBE Duo Earphones/Headset... which are pretty damn good) the reception/clarity coming through the earpiece is good. More times than not I'll have to turn down the volume on the person calling because it's too loud. Flash on the phone... I guess you really have to ask yourself, do you REALLY want to spend that much time online on a small screen? How many sites really incorporate flash, or use flash entirely anymore that you'd use on the phone? Honestly, I don't miss flash at all on the phone. Never had it with any other phone so it's not something that I miss. My only gripes are: - You can't copy/paste. - You can't send a picture directly to another phone (Unless you have the apptapp 3rd party program installed). -You can't send a text message to multiple people.
Other than that, I'm really happy with the phone.
- "You can't send a text message to multiple people"
feck. never realized that.Gucci
