I bought a 60" vizio for 2500 and love it. I'd recommend them for the low price point.
- I have a 37inch vizio, I paid 880 for it with a 3 year warranty a few months back.mrdobolina

Samsung DLP is the way to go.
Plasma fades, LCD burns out pixels and DLP has tiny mirrors so saturation stays over time, you can't fade a mirror.

I got a Westinghouse 42" 1080p for just over a grand back in July. I love how the picture looks and it has adjustable presets. Digital audio is a bit weird on it, but if you have a receiver for your audio it won't matter to you. Its got 4 HDMI ports on it and 2 Component ins, but no DVI (you can get HDMI adapters now).
Its pretty solid for the money and hasn't given me any trouble. Check it out...

i think i'm leaning towards DLP, however 2500 is def. out of my price range. i want to be able to get other stuff too, don't want to have to eat raman the rest of the year if you know what i mean
that being said i could easily spend 2500 on a nice new mountain bike or road bike :P
well maybe not easily but you know what i mean

What's the size of the room? It wouldn't make much sense to purchase a 60" tv for a studio apartment now would it? Balance the size of the TV off the size of the room. You might save some money when you realize the TV you were thinking of purchasing would be like sitting in the front row at the theater.

but i like sitting the front row of a theater! only if the chairs roll up horizontal!
- i would suggest something like this : 50" scrd $1600+

I just purchased $6000 worth of Sony Bravia TV's for my apartment here in Manhattan. I went all out since i bought my apartment but what you should really do for the price your looking at is buy a Vizio. They are amazing quality for the price. I bought my parents a flat screen Vizio over the summer and they love it to death. Side by side with high end tv's such as the Bravias, you can obviously see a difference, but theres a huge price to pay. If I were you, I would go vizio.
- Bravias are beautiful, if money was no object, I would have one or 2 or $6 g's worth ;)mrdobolina
