finally stopped snowing after dumping 40" that's over 3 feet or 1 meter of snow for you metrically / mathematically challenged. opening day at mt bohemia is looking grand next week

that thing is a wee bit off, especially because lake effect snowfall in great amounts in so localized. For example where I am right now there is only 20" on the ground. However where I'll be this after noon only a mile away and 1000 feet higher there is double that.

but.. i don't expect people who don't live around here to know stuff like that, and the satellite maps aren't very accurate with that kind of data.

^ I grew up in lake effect belt and that is so true, 20 miles down the road would be blue skys and sun while the town was getting somewhere between 1-3 inches an hour!
