maybe bump the thread when a new note is added?
and a note sorting feature? like which one is the new note that u haven't read?
i really like the note thing. but just hard to keep on track on them.
i also like the filter and the reply on "editor's choice" and "public choice"
not so much for the cover page.....
and the left panel should expand and bit more out side cover page and classic.
but i'm a noob. what do i know :P

I really like QBN, but have found it a bit harder to keep track of where I've read something/posted due to the use of notes. I'm still trying to sort out some of the functionality, too.
- That's true. Threads are not updated when new notes are posted, so you have to go back and check things over again.Jaline

i, on the contrary, i think im going to hang out more at qbn, than i did at nt
and ive been lurking since 2002

Some people are going to loose their jobs on fridays

Not sure yet. I can't login with my old account so that's not great but hey I can use a new one instead. I don't like the long thread, posts visible layout - but again I may get used to that. I like the refresh on the posts. It does seem too big for my MBP 15" though.

Gotta get used to the new for sure, but I think it was a big step in the right, more modern direction. They did a great job at making it look & work in a unique way, too. Great job, in my opinion.

too early to be nostalgic
here is what i think, qbn in classic mode is overall way better than the old nt, and the people behind made the perfect decision placing public voice as first column and bringing the forum in focus, i'll bet 90% of traffic at the old nt was around the public voice, which is what nt was really about, at any time,
and so the space of the second and the third columns is used to view threads, which could not have been done with pvn to the far right as before, it all adds upone thing is i miss the refresh button, even though i know pvn refreshes itself automatically, i still find myself refreshing the whole page by hand, hopefully it doesnt become a habit
Cover page is virtually useless, all columns are inflated, public choice is completely hidden and forgotten, 80% of the page are adverts..

It's funny how many of the people who are complaining about the change never actually came by to NT and posted about what they wanted to change or didn't want to change. We had lots of threads about the possibility of a new site.

This is soooo sad :-(
I miss NewstodayIf I knew, I would have taken a screengrab....
- I have screenshots of that time when I was blue at NT. Glad I have them. Go to the Internet Archive. *tearJaline

Waaaa! I like it.
I believe they're still tweaking things in the background. Keep the faith!

in classic mode, its a big improvement overall

what does QBN stand for?
- gron0
Actually I just noticed classic... which replicates the old site.... so call me stupid. :P (Still... the quick developing old fart in me misses the drab greyness of the ol NT)

I think it looks fresh - but functionally i prefered NewsToday MUCH more, I liked the ease with which you could quickly skim the 3 columns and the understated but clever design

is there a way to show every post on one page, instead of having the pagination. Also, is classic just one page? When i go to classic, I get a 3 column thread, but when I click on a thread it goes back to normal mode.
- I think QBN said they were working on the "Classic" mode some more.Jaline

I don;t really see that much of a difference
