Vista is Shit. Use the XP cd and when you install, just select Format drive C using NTFS, that should remove the stinky OS from your computer.

Yea, I am pretty sure people who have problems with Vista just don't have the processor/ memory needed for it.
I would say it did "suck" for like the first few minutes ... and then I turned off all the "security" and it's been a breeze ever since and looks a lot better, which to superficial like me, is what really counts.

is vista is such shit, why is MS making a ton of money off of it?

(Nov 7 07, 07:14)Because if you manufacture PCs, Microsoft owns you.
Everything you make ships with Vista. You really don't want to load your machines with a wing and a prayer, especially when XP plays so well now, but you also don't wanna' piss off Billy Boy. You'll find your company on the ass end of all the software updates.
How many versions of Vista are there? It doesn't matter because MS knows that if you are serious about getting any work done, you're gonna' have to buy Vista Ultimate.
That's what Ultimate means: You're ULTIMATELY gonna' have to by it.

how long before they release a totally rewritten OS? from the ground up.

(Nov 7 07, 07:32)As soon as they finish compiling all of the data from their Test Dummies...
meaning us.

I hope so. What would be the point of a huge R&D dept if you're not going to use their research.

^ an ability to write-off grand debt through an R&D budget, among other things.

Well I have a MSDN License from my corporate gig, so playing with all their new stuff is just fun ... and free, heh.

anyone got a Microsoft Technet subscription?
GET ONE!! :D
Saved my life at least 4 times this year alone.
Every OS(Vista Ultimate to Win 2000)... every APP(old Office to new Office)... fully working versions (that you can put on multiple boxes)...
... it's about $500 for a year and worth every penny if you're a PC user.

Any "review" of a product that begins with "product is shit" is obviously an emotional rather than a rational response.
I will again stress its not the perfect OS, but its better than XP. It might not be as good as leopard, but there is no way that Microsoft can match apple.
not because of any greater savvy but because macs and PCs are as different as tigers and lions.
They are the same but ultimately different. Macs are made for apple hardware. PC have to fit everybody's system.
both serve a purpose and fullfill a need.
I dont understand why people are behaving as if they have major shares in either company.
Bottom line...Product A does not have to be SHIT for Product B to be better.

(Nov 7 07, 08:40)Of course it does!
Don't you realize the New World Order operates using simple binary code?0s and 1s only, baby.
With us or against us.
Love the war or hate the troops.Windows or Leopard...
(BTW - people running Windows on Macs are abominations that will be hunted down and eradicated by forces from both sides)
