"Internet class at school."
LOL you have go to be kidding me. that too, is totally going in the anthology. :)

Heh, it's called, "Internet and Information Society" (in the realm of Communications) and it's one of my most interesting classes. It's not as simple as it sounds. We talk about a lot of political things and conduct interviews.

With a name like that it seems perfectly legit to have facebook running during class.
It is not M$ you have to worry about - the machines want the info to make their take over easier.
- Jaline0
There are only 29 people in the class and no one goes on Facebook. Sorry, I meant in my other classes.

well, that's just smacks of irony..

Anyone red the eula?
Heard it naps the rights to steal your uploaded images.
Careful not to upload pictures of yourself in compromising positions. You know what I'm talking about.
Since the site now owns your pictures they could probably sell them to, say, your future employer or whomever you're looking to work for.*adds tinfoil to tomorrows shopping list*

Its Homeland Security for consumers.

Some companies do try to view profiles on Facebook before hiring (or not hiring) people.

I just deleted a bunch of stuff from my profile...

you do know you can lock down your public profile in FB privacy settings.. just go through and check NO to everything.
of course this isn't gonna stop big brother from collecting your infos, but effective for keeping out any potential employers, that crazy ex, etc etc.

why didn't these idiots buy it a year ago?

If I get a resume I think is good I'll hit up any social sites to see what I can find. Give me a better idea of the person I may be flying out before spending the money :)

This is why it is valued at that amount... your "friends" will now be sending you advertisements.

they did not buy facebook, nor want to.
they bought the 'right' to un-altered, proprietary user data-mining results of Facebooks' profiling and trends analytics, along with the right to premier 'social ad' placement. this, was valued, over the course of the contract length, to be valuated by Facebook as being worth $240M. they did not purchase $240M worth of the Facebook company.
- Llyod0
then why does everybody keep saying that they bought 1.whatever% of facebook?
