I somehow managed to break my spacebar get hand to look around tool thing. Spacebar doesn't do anything in CS2 anymore and it's freaking me out - i feel crippled. ideas?

did you check your keyboard shortcuts? Is your space bar broken? Is caps lock on? Are you not zoomed in? Is the window active?

Not sure, but if it happened to me, I'd try deleting my prefs file (the workspaces bit in particular).
Back it up first, obviously.
In windows, it's in
C:\Documents and settings
\YourProfile\Application Data
\Adobe\Adobe [Ill.CS2.Set]
\Workspaces

No - this shit isn't fixed yet. I have to hit "H" to get the hand icon. This is driving me crazy.

what is the "H" keys like a few centimeters above the sapce bar???
cant you re-assign the sapce bar to a different key so you can re-adjust the key stroke as well and thus dont have to hit the "H" key...

if yes, check and fix your illy key shorts under Edit.

H works differently than the spacebar - space bar you hold and drag - H is a constant, so I can't have a tool selected...

Quit and relaunched a bunch of times - doesn't help.
About re-assigning the keys - won't let me assign spacebar to anything.
