bill murray is hardly in it. i stopped liking his movies after the royal tenenbaums, it was just too much of the same for me.

Saw it last night.
I agree with Ampersanderson's sentiments. Much more absorbing than I expected it to be. I want to watch it again already.

there was an article on the ny times, i think, commenting on his movie(s) and it said something like his movies were "too cool for their own good"...can't really remember...

"racist jib"
where did that come from? just curious
harlequino
(Oct 3 07, 07:33)yeah, it's actually pretty hard to believe in this day and age but lot's of people have placed the word "racism" next to Wes Anderson's name all over the web. I don't know if he's racist, but his scripts tend to be read as such...
I do like the onion review of his new movie, http://www.theonion.com/content/…

Glad to hear the positive reviews on this. I saw this finally this weekend. i was prepared for the letdown given some articles I read.
Personally, I loved it, and it's been rattling around in my brain for a couple days now. It had a certain warmth and humanity to it, that really grabbed me.
I love his voice and his films. The fact that he has a recognizable style and voice is all the more endearing to me. Nobody else is making films the way he is.

wes anderson just plain rules.

I fully enjoyed it, and like all of his other films, I'll watch it again soon.

a friend of mine kept urging me to watch the royal tenenbuams with her. she said it was the funniest movie ever, and that the humor would be right up my alley...
after i saw it she asked 'wasn't that awesome?' and i responded 'it was an interesting movie. the characters were mostly obnoxious, but overall well filmed. but it wasnt funny.'
she insisted it was
i insisted it wasn't. it's mostly depressing. all of his characters/stories are like that.
i might watch it if enough people hounded me i suppose, just dont tell me its funny
- whats wrong with you? its SUPER funny.horton

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0432…i'm kinda uneasy about the "animated"... but gotta trust wes anderson's impeccable style.

with the exception of the royal tennenbaums, i've never cared so much for the storey as i have for the well-rounded, colorful, ideosyncratic, character caricatures.
wilson's character in trt, was exceptionally bizarre - which i like

I enjoyed the film, especially after seeing the making of the film, and how it was filmed on a adapted moving train. Quite superior.
