haven't seen it yet, but want to also...only noticed the poster is similar to life aquatics (incidentally both done by the same people)

I liked the movie. Nice ride.
I'm going to India for a month, I better bring some counterfeit cough syrup

i saw a guest screening of it a few months back.
maybe more editing made it better, but i didnt really like it. was boring and no bill murray.
and wtf is brody doing in this flick?
I'd like to see it again with whatever changes they made, as it seems to be getting great reviews.

Not as good as "Life Aquatic" imo, but worth seeing. It sort of lacks a proper story, but it's the beautifully crafted scenes it's worth watching for. I loved the "Luftwaffe Motors" retrospective.
What I liked about Anderson movies was that he made me forget how annoying Owen Wilson was. That didn't work this time though and this might be the weak point of the film. The initial "Hotel Chevalier" part was neat, and it promised more. Think what you want, Natalie Portman is stunningly beautiful but I've seen her too many times try to play sexy without success. I thought she just didn't have it in her. This is the first time she actually is hot and it's a nice surprise. Beautifully filmed too, did you see the closeups of fuzzy little hair on her neck? :)

I hear the cut is quite different from test screenings. Really looking forward to it.

I watched this last night - It was interesting and enjoyable - some nice lines, beautiful shots, and awesome soundtrack. I often feel like Anderson movies require a second viewing before I can really make and opinion - it's kind of like listening to a new album.

Nice description, raf. Makes me want to see it more (except for the Owen Wilson bit, which I completely agree with you about).

I'm so tired of his Quirk style of movie making... let me guess what this is about, rich white americans go to india to find themselves and hear british music where ever they go... sounds like his last 3 films.

robotron3kYeah...I'm a little worried...especially with Brody and no Bill Murray....I hope it ventures into some NEW territory and isn't just more of the same.

I'll just go for the setting.
Wilson, Brody, and Schwartzman don't really do anything for me.

I walked around for days after seeing it completely in a daze. Soo beautiful. The story isn't something you can follow in a linear way, but it speaks poigniantly to the search they are on; there are no real obvious answers. Very true to life in my opinion. And easily one of the most captivating visual creations i've seen in a while.
As a designer, I adored the amount of graphic detail put in to this film.

Bill Murray is in it. He just doesn't have a leading role (I believe).

It's odd what a strong reaction against his writing and style people have some times. I really enjoy it, it's his own. And I'll take 20 of his films over most other things out there now, I guess.

I think he's just trying to make ironic and comedic movies about interpersonal relationships at their breaking points. There's nothing wrong with that. I'm still entertained.

I only wonder what racist jib Anderson will direct at the people of India, beside using them as a colorful backdrop to a bland storyline... say... maybe there is something to this Owen Wilson suicide attempt after all...

"racist jib"
where did that come from? just curious
