pointless yet i dig it. nice work jim!

The only thing I would've done different, would have been to lay out all the work on one huge page and really use the navigation arrows to scroll around through the work [so mimicking google maps even more closely] and maybe use the drop-down as a 'jump to' feature...

(Sep 20 07, 03:31)Them not doing the above is actually what makes me feel disatisfied by the navigation.
- Jaline0
Good idea, but it doesn't really work.

We really apreciate some of the feedback we got from your messages and are working on making a few improvements. We will let you know when they are done.
Thanks

risky.
what if someone associated the word stewdio with an image of goatse on a webpage?
- Dancer0
No.
Once upon a time you could type in Stewdio into Google images and all you would get was his work.James and Joe just reminded me of this

yaha

"why do people paint pictures of landscapes?"
If your going to compare it to Fine Art I think you'd have more luck with Dada

ah, what's this? google map API! oh, how fun....oh.... wait a minute.... huh? but... why?
- Crouwel0
well, the presence of the nav where it has no or very little function makes it rather pointless.
- neue75_bold0
haha, yeah I know... but I wouldn't go so far as to say it's pointless, but rather - flawed?

"to lay out all the work on one huge page and really use the navigation arrows to scroll around through the work"
Exactly, then it would make sense! Without that I may as well get my cock out at my next interview and then explain, 'Well if you guys knew what context I was doing this in you wouldn't be calling the police'

they've reappropriated the device well, it's not tricky, confusing or difficult to use by any means.. the zoom is a great idea [yet even better if they had more intricate work] the arrow illustrating that 'you are here' and then used to display information is great..

I see your point and would normally agree that it's trying too hard, but for a change I think someone has relatively succeeded in doing something interesting with reappropriating an existing device...

neue75_bold. Do you not think it sets up a premise with it's navigational references and then doesn't deliver on them? Does that not make those references pointless?
I do like quirky nav and I really like the sites content but I don't think it works. Tricky/clever nav asks the user to think laterally, so it better have reason.
- Crouwel0
me neither.
but you already knew that.

Not a fan of gimmicks or function without purpose.
