I was thinking of setting up a webcam on the outside of my house, so I can keep an eye on my dogs while I'm at the office. Anyone use a wireless cam? Long cord? I'm running OSX if it matters.
Thx.

I was thinking about doing this for a while, I live on the 8th floor and have a pretty wicked view. I don't necessarily need wireless but I would be interested in this also.
Swarm wants to make his own sex tape. don't let him fool you.

i had a guy who did that for his store..
i forgot what software he used..
it was a simple set up. he just plugged in his web cam to his computer and over IP, he was able to watch his store at night.
and he had motion sensor so the cam would shut off unless there was anything moving, he would get an email or txt message alert
he said the set up was basically $50 software

The kennel that keeps my dog all the time has webcams that stream video all day online, maybe check with a local spot.

i have a cheap d-link with an embedded web server. you can stream it over the net if you poke a hole in your firewall, but if you have a dynamic IP, you have to use something like dyndns so you can find it when your IP changes. it can also FTP still images to a server at regular intervals.

i've also used this with USB cams, worked well:
