i do too. i have one playlist for specific music i want to listen to for the day and one smart playlist for random songs in my collection that's not on my first playlist.
the rest is music videos, movies, podcasts and pictures.

I'm constantly removing stuff that I don't listen to regularly and making room for new stuff,... I love the whole process of cataloguing, arranging and labelling.. I make time for it instead of trying to make the process quicker and easier..

Also, I have tons of songs from albums that I hardly listen to, so I just uncheck those ones. They are never checkmarked again unless I feel nostalgic or something and want to listen to it.
I'm the same way with movies and TV. I can only watch something once or twice before getting bored (at least by myself). So then I don't watch it for months / years. When I go back to it again at that time, I get that wonderful feeling that I have discovered something new, or it will remind me of something that happened in my past.
It's hard to explain...
Maybe I'm obsessed with preserving a certain type of emotion or having an intense experience from each song.
