Well the screen has got to be bigger than the old iPod video and Ive watched many an episode of Family Guy/Curb on that but I wouldn't watch a film, far too small. Me thinks my eyes would get a wee bit sore...

why bother buying one neu your paying for something with a touch screen that you''l only use to navigate through your tunes?...... or will you look at the internets or what will you use the screen for?......viewing images.... TELL ME!!! :E

I've been wanting to get an iPod for a year or so as my Sony MD walkman/recorder is daft, I have to use a PC to take anything off or put anything on to it...
I would use this for email and just listening to music..
I'd be happy with even a bloody nano at this point, but think the wifi access is worth the extra money... whenever I have that extra money in my pocket..

I've been watching curb your enthusiasm on my video ipod on the morning train recently, don't feel like I've been missing any visuals.
Lost wasn't so good to watch on it, but still ok.
8/16gb sucks, I don't like the idea of not having all my music on the ipod.

An iPod is just an extension of your Mac/PC which holds ALL your music. You don't need the iPod to hold ALL your music, because it's on your Mac/PC.
If you see what I mean.
2000-odd songs, or 200-odd albums at any one time is plenty, even on a long journey.

As for the iPod Touch, I do want one. But I would never pay that price for it while being a student (since there are so many other things I could use that money for) and I suspect the fingerprints (unless I got a cover) would make me go mad.

I agree with Rand about the storage it just has to have more for it to be good enough. I wouldn't buy one though as I don't like fancy gadgets a cup of tea and a shag is all I need really :)

The new Nano has the best screen out of all the iPods (not including the Touch and the iPhone). It may be worth purchasing for that reason, especially because it's significantly cheaper than anything else.
I was planning on buying a new iPod Nano. It's shitty that the 4GB only comes in silver, but I guess the 8GB is a decent price. To be honest, my 2GB is enough for me. I have lots of music stored on my computer, but I never listen to all of it which is why I only have the need for 2GB.

I've got 70gbs worth of music...
I know people say, yeah but you'll never listen to it all... but i'd want to store it all otherwise
a) I've got to decide what to put on it
b) when browsing, why would i want to browse half my collection,
c) i'd end up looking for something that wasn't there
Think i will waiting til there is an iTouch or whatever when it has a decent amount of storage
