I decided to go with the slower processor and spend the money on more ram.

what specs did you get?

The new keyboard is awesome, I love it. I spent a few hrs setting everything up, but I've already put in a good 10 hrs of work on it.
so fast.

I just got a new one too...not the big one though, just the 20". I thought the glossy screen would bug, but its alright. I love the keyboard.

Have you done any work on it yet or just been pimping it with desktop pics and widgets?
Everytime I get a new machine I end up wasting hours setting it up with crap that annoys me later.

Hey, come on now, we should be talking about my new iMac, not whether PC's are better than macs.
Please, continue talking about my new computer.

I really don't see the big deal. Most products is sold with a lifestyle behind it and it is up to you to choose the product that works best for you. Dell is trying to look cheap because that is their concept. If that works better for you, you should go for a Dell computer.

http://www.apple.com
http://www.dell.comone of these is selling a lifestyle. can you spot which one?
- Atkinson0
yeah you can but they still do the same things. I dislike PCs, I don't find them as intuitive, streamlined, easy, nice, well designed or easy to use. Still , they do the same stuff as my macintosh!

well at this point, hardware aside, you can argue a mac is better because vista sucks it hard...
- Atkinson0
Both mac and pc do the same things, be it in different ways. One looks better and saves a little space. I don't get the argument, it's like blue volvo or red mondeo, same feckin' thing at the end of the day. I use a mac because I like them to use and to look at.

I just hate apple more because they're not selling electronics, they're selling a lifestyle that's total bs

(Aug 25 07, 13:37)if you let your computer determine your lifestyle you have issues. apple doesn't promote a lifestyle? having technology in yr life? hows that different from a PC or sony or whatever else?

the PC/MAC debate is soooo boring. just buy what you want! if someone prefers to opt for a mac over a pc, then fine! or pc over mac, it really doesn't matter!! Just buy what you feel is best for your money/requirements. There's no need to run the other one down.

I just bought the new iMac and i love it, lifestyle or not. Isn't most products sold that way anyway. If it wasn't, most of us would be out of a job. PC is a lifestyle too. It's just a very ugly one : )

It's only a lifestyle if you accept it and/or project it as so. for example, my mom bought an iMac a year ago and all she does is check her email on it about twice a week... far from being a lifestyle.

when will people realise that the point has long ago stopped being to just sell the 'electronics'.. it was really always about designing (and selling) an experience, a function, interpersonal communication, or even yes, a lifestyle... its just clearer now... and still evolving.

whatever that means.
