i will just add that whatever bag you get, additionally get a padded sleve to put your MBP into first, then into the bag.
never trust the padded area of any bag 100%.

I've got one for my powerbook and it's very comfortable lugging all that weight around.

I've got a Macally bag that was hardly used that I've been trying to get rid of. I'll give you a good deal if you're interested. It's this material but it's more of a portfolio type shoulder bag, really roomie and big, could hold a 17" laptop, and it comes with a padded case.
Here's what it looks like. It's got a bright yellow interior.
