No one knows for sure about the upcoming displays. That just how apple works.
I've heard stuff about adding iSights and dropping the 23" for a 24" model.

the macrumors page doesn't look promising for new displays

There is a new acd comming out soon! Cause I just got a new wan a month ago, its always the way aint it. But sure it's still HD so who cares.
A question though with these current wans being a higher res than 72dpi is there a way to up the res in Photoshop, Indesign, Illy etc so that the graphics llok sharper on my display?

(Jul 30 07, 07:36)i have been told numerous times that the dell ultrasharp and the cinema are actually the exact same lcd with a different case.
right now the dell 22 widescreen was 300 bucks i think. :/

interesting... i've not heard that the LCDs are the same before but that they are very good.
i'm leaning towards the ultrsharps more now you've said that!

i've have two of the 20" widescreens and they have been fantastic.
one at home and one at my last job.
using the dvi from the macbook pro the picture and it's crispness were amazing. i was very impressed.

if macrumors says mid-cycle, you got a long wait before new product.

thanks for that. it's good to get a review from someone who works in the industry.
i'm thinking about the UltraSharp24" Widescreen now as it's only £35 more than the 20" cinema.

Get the Dell, you will not be disappointed. I was faced with the same decision about 3 months ago. Here are some things to consider:
Dell 3yr Warranty compared to the 1yr from Apple
Dells raise lower and swivel 90 degrees so you can view it portrait instead of landscape.
Cost...big factor.
I wouldn't doubt if they do use the same LCD as the cinemas. I work on a Cinema at work and my Dell at home..can't tell a difference. They look exactly the same.

i think you've just convinced me tommyo. did you get the 20 or 24"

haha yeah I got the 24. And yeah man it's pretty funny when you can view a whole page of amazon...top to bottom.
