I've used Font Explorer and Suitcase, and I personally like Font Explorer.
Plus it's free!

i've always used adobe type manager deluxe (even though they don't make it anymore). it does the job well.
i just installed the demo for suitcase and so far i still prefer adobe type manager.

until recently, i was using atm deluxe too. great program. no problems what so ever. i'm on xp.
i have tried several, font expert, fontfitting room, suitcase, atm, and now font explorer. font explorer is my app of choice now. it is more thorough and more intuitive. it has small issues like not remembereing what folder it was you were importing from when importing. but the errors are quite superficial. sometimes, meaning 3-4 times in the last 2 weeks, that some fonts may dissappear. everything is fine upon restart.
also, and this may present legal issues, you can export your fonts as a zip file, although it doesn't seem to splice up categories and folders so other machines can utilize the same font structuring rigmarole you may have.
over all, i call it iTunes for your fonts. get it. screw the others.
