yeah, not much the law will do about that kind of stuff at this point. They barely do anything when it escalates to borderline violence.
She needs to get a guy in this equation to ruffle this dudes feathers.

one of my wifes friends had a really bad stalker for a while who picked the wrong night to show up at a bar while i was there with the girls. it didn't turn out very well for the guy. i have absolutely no tolerance for stalkers/rapists.

The other thing is, is that she has this boyfriend too. I'm not sure how much he knows. They have their own communication issues.
Most of this info is coming to me via my girlfriend. So I am calling the other girl tonight to get more of the scoop.

from what i know, there's so little you can do about stalking. restraining order is a joke too. so what you really need to do is a set him up for more serious charge.

he is divorced.
And on a lighter and related note. Once when I worked there, he called me into his office, and said"Oh hey Ed, I want to show you this site" because it related to some project I was doing. He says "here, look at this" and his opens a browser window with this Match.com chick profile.
I said"ok...."
He said "Oh um. Not that. Well, that's the woman I am dating on Saturday."
I said, "ah, nice one, sir."

think of it this way. if you ruff him up what is he going to do? call the cops? what is he going to tell his wife happened? she'll make him call the cops and report it but there is the problem, he reports an ass beating, he knows the guy who beat his ass will spill the beans about the stalking. he's digging himself a hole here.
i normally don't condone violence, and actually, the guy i met in the bar i never threw a punch at... that was actually all about pressure points. after i jammed my thumb in the soft spot behind his ear and his legs went numb i believe he got the point.
you almost have a free pass to kick his ass seabass.
maybe even non-violently... someone has to confront him.

Yeah, I am forseeing a multi-guy intervention here. I need ot know a little more first, i.e. how much does her actual boyfriend know and such.

Although with my aim, it will be more like "Um, what are you doing to my ear?"

i think this tactic is harlo's way of trying to get in her pants
1. stalker + girl = sees opportunity
2. call out stalker / intervention to protect the girl = seems like an awesome protective guy
3. get closer to her + find out more details on the current bf = find a way to make bf angry
4. angry bf + stalker = bf and stalker goes to jail
5 sad girl with lost bf + harlo being there for her = in her pants

well let me just say i'm not saying kick the shit out of the guy, but really it has to stop before the worst-case scenario happens and it's too late for the poor girl.
do the obvious first like everyone said. cops. phone records. steaks.

Personally I am in favor of nonviolent intimidaton. I forsee luring him to a public place and making a public show of whipping out copies of these messages and saying these are going to the cops, your family, your kid, your job, everyone, if you don't stop. He has a LOT to lose.
