I'm with kelpie on this one - laughing my ass off while you all live your life waiting for something better in the next one.
You live, you die, you push up the daisies.

(Jul 10 07, 07:46)I don't necessarily believe in "something better in the next one" or something else at all.

ghost can bark, too.

The chill's a function of your heightened state of paranoia/awareness.
Is it a wooden house? They can creak like fuck, especially between wet/dry seasons.
My mum lives in an ancient house - some parts are 700 years old, most of it about 400.
My room used to be in the attic, with hulking great beams across (at different heights - great fun for a kid). Anyway, in particular storms, with the wind blowing in a particular direction, the whole place would creak and sway ever so slightly - to the exact rhythm of someone slowly, but very steadily and progressively walking across it. To me, as a young lad, it sounded exactly like 'it' was making a bee-line to my bed.
It didn't help that it was reputedly haunted by a ghost (who wandered between the house and the castle 100m away) - but, then, everything in that area is.
Believe me, as someone who's very good at shaking himself up - it's most likely in your head. I read somwhere (NewScientist?) that 'creative types' are much more prone to extrapolating what's the subject of their imagination to what they perceive.
Just as long as it isn't a psycho-axe murderer, hiding under your ceiling (waiting, with a nail gun), I'm sure you'll be fine.
(christ, sorry about that - what a load of shite to read, for nuthing)

fancy drinking some goat's blood with me nairn? I'm having a wee do later

er.. 'hiding IN your ceiling'.
Hiding UNDER your ceiling wouldn't really be hiding at all, would it?

Until you all shake off your fear of death, you'll require God and an afterlife.
That's just baggage.
You were perfectly content being dead before you were born, why expect anything else?

Already well ahead of you, Kelpie - I've taken to a wooden bowl of goats blood each morning as a colonic.
Goes great with tabasco and lemon.

Nice old farmhouse. Like, 100 years old dude. Cold. Probably ghosts n shit.... or just the stone walls.

(Jul 10 07, 07:50)how about you just live your life how you want and i/we live ours how we want.
why try and push your way of life on anyone who doesn't think the way you do?
but then again, why would i expect anything else?

(Jul 10 07, 07:50)I'm open to most ideas, but for the most part I don't believe in God (I mean...some people will say that you either do or you don't, but I disagree). However, I do believe in spirits being here, for whatever reason. I'm actually skeptical for the most part until I see things for myself or have as much evidence as I can. I'm sure half of even those occurrences that have a large amount of evidence are crap, but if there's any chance of it being true I'm willing to open my mind to it.
